I tend to get lots of side effects from meds. All the pain meds constipated me something fierce so my gastroenterologist put me on Miralax which is now over the counter. Even when not taking meds I have constipation due to IBS. Ultram got to the point it made me throw up even if I took it with plenty of food. Antidepressants caused huge weight gains, loss of libiodo, and constipation. Flexeril cause racing heart palpatations. Iburpofen makes my ashtma go nuts as did reglan when they...

Just to say I hope you get the support you need from Doctor's and professionals to help you deal with this situation. Your boyfriend is defintely a drug addict.

Nicky, I may be barking completely up the wrong tree here, because I don't have all the facts, and I don't know if he has been on prescribed opiates...

Well, I have continuous nausea from meds. I have had three episodes of hepatitis from meds, but cuaght them very early. Two episodes of early renal failure, one of which I trusted my docs to catch, they were getting lab work. HAH, they didn't mention it, I don't know if they ever looked or thought about it. I don't think we have met. I am Penny from Devon. Your boyfriend is a drug addict and needs specialist help. Telling his parents, who have informed his doctor hasn't helped, so it is up to you to act. I assume you live together as he keeps stealing your meds and this has to be addressed first. Is there any way you can get him out of your home (assuming it is your home and not his) because while he is there, he will keep stealing the medication you need so...

hi, just a bit of advise, my boyfriend is addicted to coedine, and i dont know what to do, he takes approx 40 a day just to feel normal
i am a rhuematiod arthritis sufferer and he takes my medication as well, even when i hide them he finds them, there has been days if i have been in severe pain i have not got any
i have informed his family who are now aware of this, his parents have informed his GP who was going to reduce his meds, which they have not as yet,...

I took tylenol 3 and anti-inflammatories for 12-15 years and have lost kidney function. Now I am not allowed to take anything without the kidney specialist's okay. Absolutely no anti-inflammatories or tylenol; so I was put on morphine instead. That was a disaster. I was a zombie for over a year. Now I take neurontin and methadone. They seem to work as well as anything will but the neurontin causes weight gain. My brain fog....I don't know if it is from FMS or meds. I swallow...

Oh Sherry, I'm so sorry. It just goes to show that however bad I feel, there are lots that feel worse. My thread must have caused you discomfort and for that I apologise. I have friends in the states and they tell me how everything works and when it doesn't. I cannot imagine not having meds because I couldn't afford them. We here in the UK are always complaining about the NHS but when I hear things like that, I thank God I live here. I'm so sorry.

At this point, I wish I had medication to have side effects from.I've had no meds for many months,now,and life is becoming somewhat surreal.My days and nights blend together,because I can't sleep most of the time.I still have to force myself to function,which causes more pain.I'm low income, so I can't even afford to go out and try herbal remedies, except for the few that are very inexpensive. But, those mostly don't work, so why bother.I would gladly trade a few side...

Weightgain....with a capital W. If it says possible weightgain, I instantly gains 10-15 pounds, and they don't come off either. Even when I stop taking the medications.

i take ibuprofen for breakthru pain and always have strange pains in my stomach..now i am wondering if its that med?

i take tramadol for reg pain and it makes me a lil loopy and sometimes sleepy.

my bp med...lisinopril/hydrochorithiazide does not really have any..only when i first start it....sometimes i am lightheaded if i stand up to quick or bend down and come up too fast...that...

I battle my liver values. Taking Milk thistle herbs to help. Staying away from alcohol and reducing pain killers to a low level.

Drowsines, yes...I hate that! Or I would have taken more!

Hi Penny I take 750mg percocets and 800mg ibuprofen . The ibuprofen tears my stomache up so I take tagament sometime s and if it makes me sick I end up useing phengren .

My pain levels are nowhere near as bad as yours, Penny, but here's the side effects I get from what I take.

Co-codamol 30codeine/500paracetamol. Side effects, constipation, drowsyness.
Ibuprophen: Side effects, stomach cramps and pain and sick feeling.

I use herbs and homoeopathic remedies also, which help with the pain, and that means I don't have to take quite so many painkillers....

As we are all on meds of one sort or another, I was wondering if you suffer side-effects and if so, what they are?

I have been on pain killers for most of my adult life and each one had scary warnings on the instruction leaflet.

For almost twenty years, I was on Co-Proxamol for back pain,...
