The more we pull together, the more our cause will be known. Even if we don't get response, we have to believe the receiver have got and read the mail. That's the most important thing to make awareness.

I've been working inside Norway, and have written to 16 local governments that will be pioneers and guiding the rest of local govs in Norway when it comes to execute the availability for disabled after the new anti discrimination law. I expected nothing, but...

I have enjoyed this thread very much. There is such hope in the chain of one person speaking out and then
another and so on until the voices get louder and louder and someone in the right place, with the right
powers has to listen.

I applaud you Mosken for your work in this area, and all of you writing letters,

It's the 5th April 2008 and I'm glad you resurrected this thread Mosken.

My lovely daughter has been trying to take me away for a foreign break for ages but she keeps coming up against all this discrimination!

She has contacted all the major airlines asking them how much a bed would cost and they have all replied that under aviation regulations, I would not be allowed to fly.

Thinking logically, even if we ever found an airline willing to break their own...

Most of the e-mails and letters I or anybody else send here in Norway, we don't receive any replies to. However I was surprised because I recently received a very positive reply from the Ministry of transport in Norway. They are picking up the topic about sitting disability and traveling by air. Something is going to be discussed ahead and researched. I'm working together with the Norwegian back pain Association. We are trying to spread as much information...

What is the policy here in the US? Think I should go see.

We usually drive cross country as I have a bed in our van. I am able to sit a few hours at a time, but not any longer or many days on the road. I can make it through one day traveling if I start out in really good shape. Of course i pay for it the next few weeks.

Glad to see this thread again.

I wrote to the Prime Minister, the Health Minister and the same people you wrote to Mosken, in the EU.

I have had no reply from the EU, not even an email to say they have received mine.

I have had no reply from the PM or the Health Minister.

But yesterday, I did receive a letter from a Stephen Burton, (WHO?) Ministerial Correspondence Unit on Department of Works and Pensions notepaper. He said the Prime Ministers office...

Jilly, I don't think I noticed you had got a reply the last time I was on this thread. I notice she is coming a bit more aware that the airlines can always blame the securities relations.
