Posts: 2 08/30/08 06:25	Tags : None Hello, I'm new here and have a question, been on disability since 01;, I recently moved put a change of adress in with the post office and called ssi,the woman said it was to late and my check would go out with my old adress. I asked if it would be forwarded to the new adress and she told me it was up to the post office(rude and not helpful). I went to the post office and asked them and they couldn't answer my question either, they said it depended what the writing on the envelope was. (If it could be forwared or had to be returned to sender)...anyway so does anyone know are ssdi checks forwarded? Thanks, kazman32

Posts: 1491 08/30/08 23:44 Mark Barista USA	From what I know, the address change must be submitted to the Social Security Administration. A change of address form with the post office will not be enough to get it delivered to a new address.

Posts: 112 09/01/08 21:24 USA	I don't think they will forward SSI checks. There's a security problem in that area because of the high theft ratio on them, like that's ever bothered the post office much before. I still get stuff all the time that says; "Do not forward!" on it in large letters and it comes from the same governmental offices. Somewhere, someone can't read. Isn't that a surprise. I worked for the government all my life and still the stupidity I see bothers me. I should expect it after fifty years....But then I ask for people to earn their paychek and that is asking too much I guess. I'm on SSDI, also and use Direct Deposit for that reason. We have Gustav hitting to the West and dragging rain in on top of us and Hanna to the South and coming our way and sending rain at us already. Fay just left and I'm Tired of water!
