Often it can be preferable to reduce the size of a picture when you post:
1. to get it to fit in a post so people can see the whole picture without having to use a scroll bar at the bottom
2. to reduce the number of bytes so the page will be easier to load for those with slow Internet connections (e.g dial-up's)
How to do it:
1.
The best way to do it is if you have a picture processing software on your computer and resize it before you upload to your image folder at Yuku. A resize this way will also reduce the number of bytes. Full sized photos is large in bytes and anyone with a slow Internet connection might not be able to (or need several minutes) to open a thread.
If you don't have the software, Google offers you one for free. It is simple and easy to use.
You can download it here: http://picasa.google.com/download/
2.
You can also resize, quick and easy, in editor. Be aware that this will NOT reduce the number of bytes.
- Insert your picture in editor as usual
- Mark the picture (click on it and you'll see lines around it)
- Hover the corner of the picture till you see the indicator change to a little two way arrow.
- Click and drag the indicator towards the center. A dotted square will follow the indicator to show the size you're getting. You'll also see some faint numbers telling you the pix size of the image (see image below)
A good size for a photo will be approx 500x 500 pix
