Marion Cotillard (sp, I'm sure I messed it up) for La Vie En Rose as Edith Piaf, her reaction and her fellow nominees reaction for her, was wonderful!
And Tilda Swinton! Wow! I loved her years ago in Orlando, and to see her win last night for Michael Clayton, and sans makeup, just wonderful! With that shocking red hair too! And she looked stunned!
Daniel Day-Lewis, I mean, really, just great. I didn't see the movie, actually haven't seen any of them, but he just was nice to see.
And Javier Bardem, wowee! He sure fills out a tuxedo. Thank God, he looks better than his creepy character in No Country For Old Men (I think that's the title). He played a creepy, and creepy looking, character in the movie, wasn't expecting him to be quite so dreamy. Hmmm.
Others who just looked wonderful. Well, George Clooney, of course. I mean really, how can you go wrong there!
The fashion pundits this morning were ranking the best dresses from last night, but the one I thought was most stunning was Ruby Dee. I've always thought she was an attractive lady, but her appearance last night was just breath-taking! And the preggie ladies: Cate Blanchett, Jessica Alba and Nicole Kidman, just beautiful!
Too many others to count. The music performances were great, for the first time in YEARS! And the Memorial segment to those who have passed up to January 31st, ending with Heath Ledger, but including others such as Ingmar Bergman, was touching! As usual. Deborah Kerr passed last year, I forgot that, Betty Hutton, among others.
I think that maybe if they learn what works, i.e. last night, they could keep it up. The Tony's are coming up for Broadway, but they have disappointed me for YEARS due to cutting out the performances that made the show!
So what did you all think?
