had slipped vertebra 4 many years but just caused minor standing limits...in 2004 became unable to sit more than 90 min a day , all broken up into 20 yo 30 min
sessions. cant sit at a part time job...i need a rolling stretcher like moskey uses... symptoms also include getting up from standing with pain in or near
coccyx with feeling that coccyx is pulling away from body as i get up...diagnosis is spondylolisthesis grade1 with a substantial amt of instability and two
slightly bulging disks in lumbo sacrum...strange that suddenly i practically lost sitting ability from these relatively low grade conditions...docs say theyre
not surprised or confused but i dont understand from the imaging what indicates the devastating sitting problem...where on this site should i post..please
help...i lie down on my side to type and its slow and hard physically...sherry from pa, usa

Hi and welcome Sherry!
You posted in the right place! I wonder if you could benefit from using a dictating program instead of a keyboard, since you are speaking American? Have you tried lying on your back with a whole in a cushion under your painful area? Mosken |

I also have trouble sitting - though normally not as severe as what you've described. With me MRI scans and x-rays didn't show up anything at all and at first I felt like the doctors and a lot of other people thought I was faking it (which some of them probably did). After about five years a doctor explained that I had hypermobility syndrome and this was what was causing the problems. Although the diagnosis didn't offer a solution at least I knew someone believed me and I knew I wasn't going mad and since then I've managed to find some physio which mostly helps. I sometimes use Dragon Naturally speaking (made by nuance) for dictation and I find this works very well, it can seem like a lot of work getting things set up so you can use your computer lying down but I think it's worth it in the long run. good luck and all the best!

I read that the new version of Dragon/#9 is very
good. I have number 8, but had problems because of my
Norwegian accent.

The
technology critics have given Dragon #9 great reviews.
It's definitely worth a shot, particularly if English is
your native language, or a close second.Mosken, your English is so good - I'm surprised that Dragon doesn't recognize your speech patterns. I wonder if in #9 or #10 it will finally be equipped to "learn" different accents and speech patterns for a more effective outcome for everyone. |

Hi Sherry from Pa.
I have CFIDS and FM and sitting disability too. I have to lie down, face down, for about 21 hours per day. It is miserable. The gals here suggested good things about the Dragon Naturally speaking software so I sent away for it for my computer. I hope to get it this week. Danimuse |
