I've been bed ridden for the past 4 months, and saw a new Dr today that wants me on topomax. Not sure about it as I have only 1 kidney in which they've previously found stones, and kid. stones were a side effect of this med.
Looks like he also wants to treat me with drugs for mycroplasma ~ which from the info I have means taking whopping amounts of anti-b's for extended periods of time.........not sure about that one either.
I did a google search (in Canada) regarding him - Dr. David Saul (Ontario - Willowdale, West end Toronto area) He's written at least one book, and there were several ref. online.
As I left his office, a CFS patient seeing her GP in the adjoining office said her Dr, would NOT refer her to Dr. Saul - something about him PXing many drugs, addictive...general not "good feelings". I'm not sure what to make of it - perhaps a "sign"?? It was surly by fluke that I ran into her and CFS wasn't the initial topic of convo..
Here is a bit of news though - he would be willing to administer AMPLIGEN if I paid for it (duh, of course). He didn't think you could get it in Canada, but you can with certain permission; and I think I would qualify to get it; I'd just have to sell my house and all my (meagre) savings to pay for it.....but then again, what price can one put on a life?!?
You ladies (and gents) have any words of wisdom or advice for me? I've been going downhill for the past 2 yrs, and if I don't start a turn around, I'm going to be totally bedridden and need a wheelchair, not a walker
(I know
that's not an appropriate smilie, but it's so
funny!!)Hope you are all having some "good" days as Spring approaches

No Spring in Toronto yet just

Sheri
