When you make signatures for others, please be
responsible for getting it to work properly. The
signature has to be correct uploaded and staying
uploaded. Not all of our members are familiar with
changing signatures often.
Both Linda and I are hunting down so many red x's because members make a mistake when changing their signature. That means so much extra work on our part to click and check, then email and help them etc.
Please also remember not all our forums are moving as fast as Smalltalk....so keep the image uploaded also after you change your signature or personal photo.
Image magician becomes a red x after 24 hours! Please don't use that host on the Friends board!

1. Explain how to use the signature-post or email the URL
2. If you plan on erasing the sig from your own account/album, please don't give the URL. Because the first url will be in a bunch of posts previously, and become red X's immediately when you take it out of your album. It doesnt matter how soon its replaced in the siggy box, all the previous posts will be red x's regardless, because whenever you delete a url, ALL previous posts that had it become a red X.
3. Make sure the previous url is not left in the preference siggy box.
4. Make sure what you have said is understood
5. Follow up afterwards to see if the signature is working and is not a red x.
6. Make sure to explain that to post a signature, the image has to be uploaded and not only stored on the computers hard drive.
7. If the signature turn out a red x, check the red x to see if it was made an error when copy/paste the URL etc.
8. If you are unsure if the person want more than 1 signature, please ask before you make them several. Not all people want to change or have time to change their signature all the time. And not all people has a place to store it. Please make sure they clearly understand all this, especially the red X problem and uploading them to a site that allows bandwidth.
